Thanks to Jonathan Craig, Erik David Carlson, Jeff Baily and Darrell Duane, ConnectUU has been completely rebuilt to simplify operations and increase usability at all levels of access. Much thanks to the 2006 Central Radius for writing the proposal and to Concentric 2006 for ratifying it so that this much-needed update could occur. With the new site you can search for old friends and contact them, see upcoming events and groups in your area, and provide online registration for events with ease. Check out all the new features today, and be sure to update your contact information and your local group's listing. The listing for Opus 2007 is already available and registration is a breeze. May 10 - 13, 2007, Davies Memorial. Keynote Facilitators: Rev. Leslie Takahashi-Morris & Jennifer Bacon. Cost: $50-100 USD/$55-110 CDN Sliding Scale The Unitarian Universalist Youth and Young Adult White Anti-Racist Spring Summit The Summit will focus on organizing and mobilizing our community. Our agenda items will include building a sustainable and accountable organizational structure, how to create lasting anti-racist action within our communities, as well as work on developing our own personal anti-racist analyses. Unlike previous years, we as a group will focus more on strategizing and less on training. As this is an action-based event, we ask that registrants have attended a previous anti-racism workshop and are comfortable with the analysis offered there. Please contact Megan A. Tideman at heythere at bust.com if you have any questions or are interested in attending, and she will send you further information. Registration costs approx. $40 on a sliding scale. Location: UU Church in Silver Springs, Maryland Friday May 11 (starting mid-day) Saturday, May 12 (all day, with some joint programming with DRUUMM Youth and Young Adults) Sunday May 13 (ending mid-day). Back to Table of Contents 4. Propose a Resolution for ConCentric Would you like to make a change within the Continental UU Young Adult Network and the larger UU movement? Is there a policy you think should be in place, but isn't? Have problems with the way something is structured or run? Propose a resolution to be presented at ConCentric! This year we are trying out a whole new way of submitting proposals for resolutions at ConCentric. In the past, if there were any issues with the way a resolution was written, folks had to gather last minute between plenary sessions at ConCentric to rewrite the resolution before it was passed. This is problematic. It can cut into other programming, other plenary sessions, or the time set aside for elections. This year, we have set up this LiveJournal community at http://cc_resolutions.livejournal.com where proposed resolutions will be posted and can be commented on by anyone. The Steering Committee can look over the resolutions and make comments on how they could be honed to be more specific, more focused, or more likely to be passed! All are welcome to make suggestions! To submit a resolution to be posted on the LiveJournal community, please e-mail it to ideas at uuyan.org. For more information about resolutions, visit http://www25.uua.org/ya-cm/cuuyan/sc.html.
