3. Message from Kierstin Homblette at the UUA Washington Office for
Advocacy =========================================================

Dear Young Adults and friends-

The UUA Washington Office is working to create an email list of
Unitarian Universalists (and Allies) who are interested in receiving
periodic email action alerts about legislative issues related to
Reproductive Health and Family Planning. This would be an
announcement-only list of the UUA Washington Office for Advocacy,
address topics including but not limited to contraception, adoption,
teen pregnancy, abortion, sexuality education, international issues, and
budget and funding concerns. In the interest of continuing the work that
we started at the March for Women's Lives more than a year ago, I
thought you might be interested in such an email list.

If you are interested in being on this list and receiving email alerts
to help you take action on Reproductive Health and Family Planning,
please email me at khomblette at uua.org.

Additionally, if you know other people who may be interested in such a
list, please forward my name and email address to them and they can
email me to sign up.

Thank you for all you have done and all you continue to do in the name
of justice.

In faith,

Kierstin

7. REGISTER FOR OPUS AND CONCENTRIC 2005!

========================================================

Yes folks, that's right! It's not too late to register! Register TODAY
on the Opus and ConCentric event pages at www.connectuu.com
<http://www.connectuu.com/> , and don't forget to check out Expressions
in Color, the pre-Opus People of Color retreat!

Opus 2005: Who We Art: Spirituality and Art in the Heartland
How do you express the sacred? How do you divulge your thoughts of the
divine? Do you dance to convey your convictions or do you write to
relinquish emotions? Does song seep out of you or do you find solace in
the sciences? Whatever the mode, it is often our desire to find ways to
express what our spirituality means to us. Come join us at Who We Art:
Spirituality and Art in the Heartland, this year's theme for OPUS 2005,
the C*UUYAN annual spiritual retreat. Here we will discover how we
practice the sacred and the artist that lies within us as well as
unknown gifts we possess, yet to be unearthed.

ConCentric 2005: Weaving Our Web: Developing Interconnections Within and
Beyond ConCentric is the annual meeting of C*UUYAN, the Continental
Unitarian Universalist Young Adult Network. Young adults are helping to
lead our spiritual movement to become more radically inclusive and
justice-centered. This year's conference will encourage and help UU
young adult leaders to develop a sense of well-being in ourselves, our
communities, and the world. Come join other UU young adult leaders at
Camp Hantesa near Boone, Iowa where we will weave together, ways of
strengthening our young adult movement. District representatives and
participants will have an opportunity to network with each other and
learn from the experiences of other UU Young Adults and the work they
are doing in their congregations, districts and regions. This years
workshops will be focused on developing strong local YA groups and
connecting with each other on a national and international scale. We
will focus on strengthening our inner-spiritual being in order to give
us strength to foster our movement beyond ourselves and our current
congregations. Join with us this August to Weave a strong Web that will
ensure the continued success of our continental young adult movement.

Expressions in Color: A People of Color Pre-Opus Event:

In the spirit of love and justice we extend a warm welcome to Young
Adults of Color to a pre-Opus overnight retreat in calm Iowa. Our vision
is to nurture connections, improve our ability to express ourselves and
continue to build positive race relations. Led by DRUUMM Young Adults,
this 24 hour event promises to be rich in dialogue, creative work and
peace making.
