About YAPs	English (USA)
YAP is a listserv for UU Young Adult Parents to yap about parenting and parenthood. We "yap" about parenting (how to care for our children), such as baby basics, creative discipline, play, and methods of teaching faith and UU principles to our children. We also "yap" about our identity as parents, including the transition to new parenthood from couple-hood or single-hood, marital and partner relationships, premature or unplanned parenthood, relationships with family and friends, and competing demands in our lives. Through the listserv, we can support each other in our parenting journeys, and as YAP activists, we can organize to share our knowledge with YRUUs and other UUYAs or even to create a new parenthood welcoming ritual. YAPs List Activist Project: RESOURCE POINTER is our first group activist project. Here is how it works. If you have a book, web site, magazine article, or other resource that you would like to recommend, please write a friendly critique (up to 200 words) and post it to the list using a subject header like this (without the quotes): "RESOURCE POINTER: book on UU faith and children." Please put a full citation for the resource and your name in the body of the email as you would like to be credited. For example, " -- by Caitlin W." These emails go into an archive where only list members can view them. Perhaps someday, an enterprising YAP will harvest these archived emails, and post them to the YAP web site, where they will become part of the public record. Using YAPs
To post a message to all the list members, send email to yaps@uuyan.org. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to YAPs
Subscribe to YAPs by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription.
